    “It is with deep sadness that Michael Hagerty’s family announced that he has died… in Los Angeles. His love for his hometown of Chicago and his family has been the foundation of his life,” actress Bridget Everett, his co-star on hbo’s Somewhere, on Twitter. “It is with great sadness that the Hagerty family announced his death yesterday in Los Angeles,” Everett wrote. She did not specify the cause of the death of the actor.

    Mike Hagerty is best known for his recurring role as the building manager, Mr. Triger, on Friends. He also played in the films “Overboard,” “Wayne’s World,” the series “Seinfeld,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and other films.

    In addition to Friends, he appeared in an episode of Seinfeld as a clothing store owner and has appeared in comedies including Lucky Louie starring Louis C.K., The George Carlin Show, and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Hagerty has also starred in numerous films from 1983 to 2020, including Brewster’s Millions, I Married an Ax Killer, Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Inspector Gadget, and Thin Ice. Over the years, the actor has amassed a long list of guest roles on TV, mostly in comedies but also in dramas like ER and Deadwood.
