This spring, Lauryn Shannon welcomed twins via C-section. She and husband Josh Efird are now parents of four.
With almost-17-year-old Alana at home, that makes five kids in their household.
That’s expensive. And while Lauryn is on reality television, she’s not exactly a Real Housewife.
Alana is now begging fans to pay her for Cameos. Is she the family’s new breadwinner?
Early this week, Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson took to her Instagram Story.
There, she asked fans to hire her to make personalized videos.
Cameo is a popular site for reality stars. Fans can pay them for short, made-to-order videos.
Alana’s birthday is right around the corner, and one could easily imagine that she wants extra cash to celebrate.
However, her financial priorities are a little more adult than that.
Fans suspect that, in light of the household’s financial situation, Alana is hoping to provide for her family.
“Book my Cameo! For anything you guys need,” Alana invited.
She assured her fans and followers: “You will most definitely not be disappointed!”
According to Alana’s Cameo profile, her videos currently cost $50 each.
Alana also promoted the family’s meet-and-greet tour.
That won’t be free for fans, either, who will need to pay about $25 a pop at the Atlanta event.
Fans can buy merch. They can even meet Alana’s 21-year-old boyfriend, Dralin Carswell, if they are so inclined.
Alana’s 22-year-old sister has also been promoting her own Cameo account.
Lauryn charges as much as $60 for a Cameo.
These videos are popular birthday gifts and anniversary presents, but some people get them just on a lark.
Lauryn and Josh recently welcomed twins Sylus Ray and Stella Renae.
The twins were born via C-section.
Less than one year earlier, Lauryn gave birth to Bentley. Eldest sister Ella Grace is four years old.
All of those kids are, of course, expensive.
A couple of months ago, reports came out that Lauryn and Josh were flat-out broke.
They were allegedly running out of groceries. Considering the extreme expenses that go with childbirth, it is not really a surprise.
What truly startled fans was a report about what June reportedly told Lauryn when she learned of the predicament.
Allegedly, she listened and then told Lauryn to get on “TikTok” in order to make ends meet.
It sounds like Lauryn and Alana are both now working towards bringing in more cash.
Some fans have assumed that Alana is raising money to contribute to the household.
Others have even insinuated that Lauryn is pressuring her younger sister to help the family pay bills.
That is emphatically not her responsibility. But if Alana is doing that, she deserves praise.
