I bought an expensive gaming PC from a 3rd party reseller- over $3,700 There turned out to be some issues with it- it boots fine, but CPU temps are high, it randomly resets while gaming, and there are fan issues. Seller told me to contact manufacture, so I did, and manufacturer suggested returning.
I’m super anxious because the seller has reviews where they charged a restocking fee for defective units, and then the seller either claimed it wasn’t defective or blamed the buyer. This includes one where a customer was told by manufacturer to return, and they still got a fee.
I’m anxious that if my return gets damaged in shipping, I forget 1 small item in return, or the seller wants to screw me by claiming it’s not defective because it boots, they will charge me a 20-50% restocking fee(potentially as much as $1,700!)
I documented the issues, but I worry that if I need to go with a to z returns, the a to z will fail because seller will claim it works fine for them and that I returned it in used condition.
Given the return process will take weeks to ship and review, how can I protect myself and avoid anxiety over losing money during this time?
