Iyanna McNeely and Jarrette Jones are going their separate ways.
Less than one year after viewers cheered Jones and Iyanna on via the smash hit reality show Love Is Blind, the spouses have split.
How unexpected, right?!?
“After much thought, we’re saddened to share that we have separated and will begin the process of divorcing,” McNeely and Jones captioned a joint Instagram statement on Wednesday, August 17.
“While we have love for each other, our lives are going in different directions and that’s okay.
“Coming to this decision was far from easy and we will always wish each other the absolute best.”
Doesn’t sound like there are any bad feeling, does it?
Iyanna and Jarrette fell for each other as contestants on Love Is Blind Season 2, which premiered earlier this year.
The latter was torn for a period of time between his future wife and another cast member, Mallory, until deciding to propose to Iyanna and plan his future with the alleged love of his life.
“He heard my concerns and he ultimately showed me that I was a priority,” McNeely told Us Weekly after the season wrapped up.
“So by the time we got to the wedding day, I was really just in the feels. I was just really excited and really just ready to get it done.”
That was then.
“We hope you all will give us some space as we close this chapter of our lives,” their statement continued.
“Thank you to our close friends and family for loving us both through our experience.
“To the Love Is Blind family and Netflix, thank you for this unforgettable opportunity and support.”
The former Netflix personalities, who celebrated their first marriage anniversary earlier this year, further opened up about where their relationship stands amid their divorce in their joint message.
It concluded as follows:
“Each of you have brought overwhelming love and joy into our lives.
“This experience has taught us so much about ourselves, vulnerability and love. We don’t regret a single thing!”
Just two months ago, Jones wrote this on his Instagram page:
It’s so crazy to think that a year ago today we both took a HUGE chance at this thing called love and marriage.
Everyone we spoke to within this past year has said the first year of marriage is the toughest… Welp we made it!!
This past year has been filled with highs, lows, uncomfortability, growth, happiness, compromise…
I could go on forever, but this roller coaster ride has been well worth it. I’ve learned so much about myself, so much about you and that has molded me to be the best man for us and this marriage.
