It all went down after a fan asked him for an autograph.
Kanye West is being investigated for battery after an alleged late-night encounter with a fan.
Variety confirmed the news about the investigation, which centers around the early hours of Thursday morning outside of the Soho Warehouse in downtown Los Angeles.
TMZ claims that Kanye reportedly got into an argument with a male fan, whom he pushed and then punched, knocking him to the ground.
In a video obtained by the outlet, Kanye can be heard yelling, “Did y’all say that or not? Did y’all say that or not? ‘Cause that’s what happened right fucking now.”
LAPD spokesperson Redina Puentes confirmed the incident, noting that a report was taken at the site, but no arrests have been made.
Kanye has now been named as a suspect in the case, which is being investigated as misdemeanor battery.
If he’s convicted, the crime carries a maximum jail sentence of six months.
Representatives for Kanye haven not yet released a statement.
