All of the action and beauty from the popular tarmac-based Targa Tasmania rally will be aired this weekend on Channel Nine.
It’s a celebrated event in Australia, and Targa Tasmania never disappoints, with plenty of action, stunning roads and an abundance of horsepower on show.
Finally, a wider audience gets to relive the event with a Targa Tasmania TV show airing this weekend. The event – which took place back in April 2021 over five days – was first staged in 1992, with its route beginning in George Town on the Tamar River before winding through Launceston, Devonport, Burnie and Queenstown and finishing up in Hobart.
Piloting a 2016 Dodge Viper, Eddie Maguire and Zak Brakey took out the win, however the event was overshadowed by the tragic loss of three competitors. Due to the incident, stages were downgraded as participants returned straight to Hobart.
This Saturday at 1pm, Channel Nine will be premiering the annual Targa Tasmania TV show.
