THE WHAT? LVMH has introduced a sequence of senior appointments throughout its digital and selective retail arms, in keeping with varied studies printed by WWD.
THE DETAILS The luxurious items conglomerate has named Chris de Lapuente Chairman and CEO of its Selective Retailing unit. The previous head of Sephora was rumored to be taking over an even bigger function as Martin Brok was named as his successor on the perfumery chain in September.
In the meantime, Michael David, VP, Shopper Improvement and Digital at Louis Vuitton has been promoted to Chief Omnichannel Officer, efficient January 20, whereas Franck Le Moal will see his function as IT Director expanded to embody oversight of the Digital Partnerships crew.
THE WHY? The digital appointments have been prompted by Chief Digital Officer, Ian Rogers’ transition to an advisory function as he strikes over to Paris-based start-up Ledger, whereas de Lapuente has been drafted in to work a number of the magic he sprinkled over Sephora throughout his 10-year tenure on ailing DFS.
