Madison Prewett may not have gotten the final rose during her run as a contestant on The Bachelor.
But she just announced that she’s officially gotten something even better:
Her Happily Ever After!
On Sunday night, the former Bachelor suitor confirmed her engagement to boyfriend Grant Troutt, doing so just days before their ninth-month dating anniversary.
“7.31.22. You were worth the wait,” wrote Prewett as a caption to the above photo, including the date of her now-fiance’s proposal along with the message.
She then elaborated on how it went down in a chat with People Magazine, explaining how she was on vacation in Palm Beach, Florida and…
“Grant was waiting for me and led me out to the beach, where he had candles and flowers and a Bible with my new name on it.”
Madison added that she had “had no idea the proposal was coming.”
Troutt is a 26-year-old speaker and minister to athletes and churches.
“He actually was supposed to come with me and my friends to Florida but he got sick and wasn’t able to make it,” Prewett told People.
“I thought we were celebrating one of our friend’s birthdays.
“I was told we were taking birthday pictures on the beach and when I came down, my best friend led me into the bathroom where my mom and sisters were with the dress I wanted to get engaged in.
“In that moment, I knew.”
Prewett was a contestant on Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor, finishing second at the time to Hannah Ann Sluss.
She briefly dated the pilot after he and Sluss ended their engaged after just a few months, although this romance was doomed from the start, Weber previously said.
“I have waited for this day my whole life,” Madison now tells People.
“I am so excited that it’s finally here. He is everything I have prayed for, waited for, and dreamed of my whole life. He was definitely worth the wait.”
We’re so very happy fo Prewett… but we appear to be in the minority on the Internet.
In the wake of her whirlwind engagement to Troutt, a bunch of trolls online have talked trash about Madison, giving her a hard time about agreeing to marry someone she’s only been dating for a short period of time.
Recent Bachelorette Katie Thurston has seen these comments, however, and fired back at all the critics.
“Contestants get engaged after 6-8 weeks which really translates to even less time when you consider the actual time spent together,””the former bank marketing manager Tweeted on Monday.
“You don’t get to cheer on leads but s–t on Madi.
“Happy for her!
“Congratulations to finding love your own way!”
Prewett, meanwhile, started to date Troutt in December 2021, but the duo didn’t go public with their romance until the following May.
“So now y’all know, I got the realist G in town,” Prewett captioned her Instagram reveal.
“Grant Michael Troutt, so full of passion and purpose and joy, I am proud I get to do life with someone who loves Jesus and people like you do.
“The past 5 months have been the best and wildest adventure. Full of highs and lows but there’s nobody else in the world I’d rather do life with.”
