US President Joe Biden has been criticised by a slew of foreign policy experts regarding America’s impending withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The criticism comes after the Taliban entered Kabul and swept to power in the country – 20 years after they were removed in the US-led invasion.
As the Taliban regained control, the US, Australia and other countries scrambled to evacuate their citizens and local allies.
US diplomats said they have regained control of Kabul International airport and will continue to evacuate US citizens.
There are concerns the disastrous withdrawal from the country will mean not all the 88,000 Afghans who helped US forces will be able to be evacuated from the country, leaving them at risk of reprisals from the ruling Taliban government.
