In another blow to the Biden administration, the Supreme Court has today struck down the eviction moratorium put in place in control the spread of COVID-19.
The court lifted the stay on a federal judge’s order that found the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s eviction moratorium unlawful.
The CDC enacted the ruling for parts of the United States that are experiencing “substantial” and “high” spread COVID-19.
The Supreme Court, in a 6-3 ruling, said the CDC had exceeded its authority with the temporary ban.
The ban was welcomed by landlord associations, which said the ban discriminated against their members.
